Welcome to the renovated web site of Seekers Church. For those of you who are new to this site, here is a brief guide to help you find familiar features.

When we moved to Carroll Street in 2004, many among us thought it was time for a new look and feel on the web to complement the look and feel of our new home. And, with Oslin at home, Jeffrey had other demands on his time. So, in typical Seekers fashion, folks started to gather to talk and work together to discern how our web site might look and act. We tried several home-grown approaches until Jeannine, who was already working as a web site designer at CEDC became a Seekers and offered to help. Through collaboration among Jeannine, her colleagues at CEDC, Aeren, and others, our web site grew into its present form. During the process the SWAP (Seekers Web Advisory Panel) became the SWIM (Seekers Web Information Management) Team, reflecting the fact that from now on we will have many hands maintaining the site. There’s a list of content contacts at the end of this introduction.

The older collections of sermons are found with more recent sermons in the archive of our earlier site.  Our collection of older liturgies will be available again soon.   New items, things that are of general news to the public and our community, will be featured on the front page, in the space where you found this introduction.

The link to “Write Seekers” is found under the “Visitors” tab and in the footnote at the bottom of every page.  This feature allows a visitor to our web site to send e-mail to the group of Seekers who monitor and maintain our web presence, the Seekers Web Information Management (SWIM) Team, or to our building use coordinator, Katie Fisher.

One prominent new feature is the “Meet a Seeker” section on the right side of the page.  This feature rotates through a growing collection of introductions that Seekers have shared during our gathering time at the beginning of worship.  You can see the entire collection by clicking on the “Meet a Seeker” header.

Another new feature is the calendar of upcoming events on the right side of the page.  This feature lists upcoming Seekers events and has a link to a calendar that shows events further into the future, for the week or month.  There is another calendar we use to help all the different groups that use our space coordinate their activities.  That calendar is found through a link in the “Share Our Space” section.  For members of Seekers there is also a link under the “Members Area” section once you have signed in.

There is also a quick link to the most recent sermon in that right-hand column.  All sermons available on the web site are accessible by clicking the title above the most recent sermon or under “Sermons” in the “Worship” section.

Each item in the main window has two small icons in the upper right corner of that section. The left one helps you print the item.  The right one helps you send that item to others as an e-mail.

Basic information about Seekers is found under the “Visitors” tab at the top of the page:
